Mint Leaf at the Jumeirah Fishing Harbor

Sometimes #DubaiLife really isn't the worst. Like when you're invited to an event that you have to take  a boat to, and you discover an awesome, gluten-free, vegan place on the harbor. Or when you're going to said restaurant, but instead discover your new favorite Indian restaurant.
Despite growing up in Dubai, I've only recently started to go outside of my little box and actively look for and try new restaurants. It's also a little strange because I recently quit gluten, so eating out is a little harder than it would have been a year ago. I know, I know. I'm the worst.

Anyway, long story short: girl goes to harbor, girl discovers vegan restaurant, girl goes back to vegan restaurant but gets distracted by super cute, Instagram-ready Indian restaurant.

I first experienced Mint Leaf with my friend Cassandra (the one who didn't get her vegan, gluten free food as promised, sorry Cass!). Needless to say, I have been back more than once. It was at Mint Leaf that I was first introduced to the concept of thalis.

I had no idea what a thali is, I was just kind of like PLEASE BRING ME ALL THE FOOD, but according to Wikipedia, it is "an Indian and Nepalese meal made up of a selection of various dishes". Mint Leaf serves thalis on week days, and you can choose a vegetarian or non-vegetarian meal. Each thali costs about AED 80 and comes with a serving of rice, about six different dishes, and a dessert.

Since I'm not very familiar with Indian food, I thought the thalis were a wonderful opportunity to try out various dishes. And man, everything was good. Like, I'm not even kidding or exaggerating.

Three delicious thalis, and yeah, even their dishes are adorable!
I think that the combination of the awesome staff, amazing food, affordable prices, and beautiful decor makes Mint Leaf a little special. There aren't many places in the city that check all of those boxes. This is also a great spot for 'date night', as it's just down the street from the Four Seasons, so you can pop into one of their lounges afterwards.

I also think that this place was made for Instagram. I mean, COME ON.

My last visit to Mint Leaf with my friends Dorra and Bonnie.
I'm wearing a dress from Matalan, perfect summer sandals from H&M, bag from Parfois, and necklace from Lady Mauve.

So there ya have it! One of my absolute favorite restaurants in Dubai. Let me know if any of you guys try it out! For reservations, give them a call on (04) 343 1651

Love, hugs and lipstick,
