The Cure Beauty And Wellness Lounge

I don't work a regular 9-to-5, but when I did one of my favorite things was heading to the salon or spa after work. It's just super relaxing and such a great way to unwind after a stressful day at work. I also used to love popping out on my lunch break and coming back to the office with an empty stomach but shiny, freshly painted nails!

I am sure that I'm not the only one who does that, and if you work in Media City or any of the surrounding areas, you're definitely going to want to check out The Cure.

The waiting area at The Cure
I popped into The Cure for a facial because my skin had been acting up. I actually got there pretty late but the staff were super sweet and I didn't feel rushed at all. It's a smaller place, but very cozy. My therapist decided on a purifying facial because my skin was kind of congested and I was breaking out.

They use Dermalogica products.
The facial was pretty relaxing, and the therapist really did cleanse my skin. She even (I'm embarrassed to admit!) did some extractions on my ears! The only thing I would say is to maybe avoid having the extractions done if you have sensitive skin. My skin is much more sensitive than I think it is and I always foolishly go for super deep cleansing facials - I did have some redness for a few days afterwards.

The rest of the facial was fab, though! And I'm pretty sure I drifted off to sleep for a bit, which was a bit of a feat because I was super stressed out that night!

Their prices are really reasonable, too. A mani-pedi will only set you back Dhs140, so it's a great post-work treat. Facials run from Dhs150 to Dhs600, depending on what you have. The express facials take about 30 minutes, so they are perfect for a bit of lunch-time pampering!

The pedicure stations look so comfy!!
The selection of nail polish. I guess it's a beauty blogger thing, but this is usually the first thing I check out haha
On a final note, parking at their building is HORRENDOUS at the moment. I actually got stuck behind some jerk who decided to park his car at the exit and block everyone in. Eventually the construction workers kindly opened up a way for us. So, unless you're walking there, I would recommend parking in the building across the road from the BBC building, where they have an underground parking lot for Dhs10 an hour. But again, if you end up fighting traffic and stressing out, the lovely ladies at The Cure will be waiting for you with a glass of water or tea and a smile. aaaaahhh!

The Cure is located in Dubai Media City, Building 10 (BBC World). You can call them on (04)3916485 for appointments.
