Two Products I Really Wish I'd Discovered Earlier
|Vichy Capital Soleil SPF 50 and Vichy Normaderm Pro Mat|
I've been using these two face products almost religiously for the past month or so. And I really, really, REALLY wish I'd started using them earlier. Like, say, during the summer when it was super hot and you could practically see your reflection in my forehead, it was that shiny. I've actually had the Pro Mat for a while, so I have no one to blame but myself.
First up, Vichy's Normaderm Pro Mat moisturizer.

Shiny, greasy but dehydrated skin is far too common in this part of the world. The weather gets so hot that people don't want to use any products on their face at all and if they do, they tend to break out from them. It's kind of like a vicious cycle because the more dehydrated your skin, the more likely it is to over-produce oil to compensate for the dryness.
That pretty much defines my skin. Luckily, this stuff has kept my skin hydrated and shine free. I wear it under my makeup at night and it does a great job at giving me just enough moisture to keep me from looking cakey. It sinks in right away and doesn't leave any sort of film, so it also keeps my makeup from sliding right off. It does have a very miniscule white tint if you don't rub it in all the way, though.
It also makes my skin feel very soft and, when worn on it's own, keeps my skin looking even. I've been wearing it on it's own a lot, with just a little concealer under the eyes and blush and this has kind of been my secret weapon!

Then I met this stuff! And ohmagaah, you guys! Not only does it not feel heavy or make me greasier, it actually has a little bit of a mattifying effect. I don't have to worry about looking like I walked to work, on the surface of the sun. Did I mention that it's amazing? Seriously, I really recommend trying this if you have oilier skin.
I'm definitely stalking up on these two for next summer :)
