Eid Treat: ModelCo Fibre Lash Mascara

Lashes are funny, aren't they? They're just tiny little hairs around your eyes, but they make the world of difference! Unfortunately, mine are pretty sparse and not very thick. Which is pretty sad, but I've learned to accept it - kinda.

So what's a girl to do if she wants more volume, but doesn't actually have the lashes to build from? Apart from lash extensions and false lashes, there isn't that much I can do to give me a full fringe of lashes.

Or is there?

ModelCo FibreLash Brush On False Lashes Kit from fibrelashme.com

ModelCo's Fibre Lash mascara kit is brand new to the Middle East. It is an "extreme lash extension mascara kit" that has pretty much already taken the rest of the world by storm.

The extension mascara (top) and lash fibres (bottom)

ModelCo's FibreLash promises to give you that fake lash effect without having to glue on fake lashes or spend hundreds of dirhams (and countless hours) at the salon.

So, how does it work? Basically, the kit contains two mascaras. One is the main mascara, it looks just like your regular mascaras but has been specially formulated to work as part of the kit. Even on it's own, I've found the mascara does a great job at lengthening and separating my lashes. The second mascara tube houses the actual nylon fibres. It actually looks like tiny, fuzzy bits of cotton!

So, does it work? I'm very pleased to say 'yes, it does!' It helps to really pump up my almost non-existent lashes (see below). Oh, you'd like some picture evidence? Well, here ya go! (please excuse the state of my brows. I've been having issues with my eyes and haven't been able to have my eyebrows threaded for a while)

Step 1: always read the instructions! Step 2: apply one coat of extension mascara. Step 3: apply one coat of lash fibres. Step 4: Look in the mirror and go 'oooh!'
(note: step 2 is actually a picture of my bare lashes, I totally forgot to take an actual picture with the first layer of extension mascara)

According to their website, the fibre lashes are totally fine for contact lens wearers. But I'd be a little careful because the fibers (aah, it feels so good to type "fibers" the way I normally do! haha) can get a little all over the place if you aren't paying attention. That did happen to me, but I just waited until my lashes were dry and used a little saline solution. Problem solved!

I'm pretty happy with the results. You can build up as many layers as you want for extra DRAMMAAA. I usually just wear one or two, because I'm not really a fan of crazy Kardash lashes. But I do love this mascara, especially for days where I don't want to wear anything else on my face. It really does help draw attention to my eyes and make me feel a lot prettier.

You can order this lash kit from fibrelashme.com. It's $50 (approximately 185Dhs - rounded up) and they ship all over the Middle East, for $10! Check it out, it's definitely worth it if regular mascaras just don't cut it for you anymore. And let me know if you try it out, I would love to hear what you think!
