Review: L'occitane Aromachologie Shampoo

L'occitane Radiance and Colour Care Shampoo

The Aromachologie range by L'occitane is a new range of haircare products made specifically for colored hair. True to their roots, everything in this range is packed with beneficial essential oils; mainly  geranium, palmarosa, bergamot, rosemary and cedar.

The whole range consists of a shampoo, conditioner and mask as well as a volumizing mist and mask. However, my favorite product has got to be the shampoo.

The shampoo is very special because it's L'occitane's very first Sulfate-Free shampoo. Which means it's ultra gentle on your hair and scalp. The whole range is actually free of sulfates, parabens and synthetic colorants to maintain your hair color.

So how good is this shampoo? Well, after using it a few times I was so impressed that I actually put away most of my other shampoos! Which, if you're a product junkie like I am, you will know is a big deal!

The shampoo is super-creamy and thicker than a lot of other shampoos so you really don't need that much of it. It made my hair feel silky and soft, even before I used conditioner. And, because it's sulfate-free, it doesn't irritate my scalp like a lot of other shampoos do. Which is a blessing because I have a super fussy scalp! I've been dying my hair really dark for a while, though, so I can't really tell whether it actually makes my color last longer or not.

The downside might be the price. It's Dhs165, which is a lot. But, as I mentioned I do have a problem scalp (I get seborrheic dermatitis) so the majority of shampoos I can use are in that price range anyway. I'll definitely be repurchasing this once it's finished! I've had it for over a month now and I use it twice a week and I think I'm only about a quarter through, so I know it will last a long time!

Have any of you used this range? Are there any other sulfate-free shampoos you can recommend?

PS Ramadan Kareem everyone!! Wishing you all a blessed month!

  1. Does this weigh down your hair since it is extra creamy? Do you need to use a conditioner after this?
Going off topic, I'm looking for a pair of nude shoes. I checked New Look and they really don't have the kind I'm looking for- either they are too high or kitten heels or too pointy. I want something that is a proper heel height to wear at work, not something I would use at a club, you know? I checked Forever 21 but they have club shoes. Can you recommend any other please? I don't want to go to Aldo because I don't want to spend 300+ on shoes. My budget is max 150 but I can go a little beyond that. Oh, I also checked Zara but really nothing tickled my fancy. Help :(

  2.  Hi Jessa! It didn't weigh my hair down and I did have to use conditioner afterwards. Although, I have very coarse, dry hair so I use conditioner all the time! :) I can't honestly think of somewhere to find nude shoes but if you open to shopping online you can check, they have a huge selection and are having a big sale at the moment! Forever 21 sometimes has nice shoes at good prices, I like the ones in Dubai Mall and Mirdif City Center for the selction :) If I think of any where else I will let you know! X A
