Review: Sleek Makeup Ultra Mattes Brights Palette

Sleek Makeup i-Divine Ultra Mattes Brights Palette, $10.99 from Sleekmakeup.com

Neon is having a bit of a party right now and mattes have been going steady for a while. So it seems kind of inevitable that we would get a palette that combines the two.

This palette is part of Sleek Makeup's mineral-based i-Divines line. If you google them, you'll find some pretty good reviews and thousands of devoted fans. So let's see how this latest one stacked up.
A close up of the palette

I'm gonna have to admit that neons scare me a little. Although, color in general tends to scare me! I can say that when I opened this up I was like 'oooh how prettyyy!' It kind of feels like a matte version of last year's Curacao palette.

The palette contains 12 shades. Some are super bright and some are a little muted so it's nice that you get that diversity. I really like the muted gray and purple in the palette, they are a nice way to tone down the colors and will probably be great for anchoring a look.

I did find that some of the lighter shadows were a little chalky compared to the more vivid shadows. I've swatched them without primer so you guys can see the texture properly. I'm sure that they'll be even brighter when worn on top of primer.

Swatches of the top layer: Chill, Pout, Sugarlight, Dragonfly, Pucker and Bammi

Swatches of the bottom row: Cricket, Bolt, Strike, Floss, Crete, Pow!

I have no idea how they keep coming up with so many cute names! All in all, I think this is a great palette if you're like me and slightly afraid of color. The colors are bright, but not super strong so you can build them up. And 12 shadows for $11 is never a bad deal, is it?

Have any of you tried this palette? Are you a fan of neon shadow? If you are, do you have any tips on wearing it?
