Working 9 to 5..

What a way to make a livin'......(it's stuck in your head now, isn't it? MUWAHAHAHA!!)

I'm really sorry that I haven't been blogging recently. I pretty much have a TON of stuff to show you guys, including some cool new products and a really cool skincare device that I have been loving. I'm going to try to write some posts this weekend and schedule them for the next couple of weeks.

So what have I been up to??

Well, if you remember my Resolutions Post, one of my resolutions was to basically get my life together. My thirties are getting much closer than I'd like them to and I need to have some sort of plan.

Right now, I am the newest fashion and beauty intern at VIVA magazine! I'm assisting the Fashion and Beauty Editor, Kirsten Doak, who may actually be the most fashionable woman I've ever met. My very first day was at a shoot for next month's issue and I was just blown away (and slightly intimidated) by all of the creativity and the styling that Kirsten did. I also got to meet legendary makeup artist Vimi Joshi, who told us that she loves to wash her brushes in L'oreal's Anti-frizz shampoo!

Yeah...it's nothing like being on The Hills!

The whole team at VIVA is amazing, super sweet and very hard-working. I'm really enjoying my time there and I've been learning so much about what goes into making a magazine.

I'm also starting a makeup course at ESMOD next month. It was supposed to begin this month, but was postponed until March. It is a two month course with Manal Maalouf, who used to run the Makeup Forever Academy over here.  I started a bridal makeup course with her there a few years ago, but was unfortunately unable to continue. Then the academy closed down, so I was really happy to find Manal again! I also took a makeup course along with my beauty training but I need a refresher since it's been so long since I've worked in the industry.

So, anyway....that's what I've been busy with lately! I just wanted to share a bit of what's been going on in my life. This is a really exciting time for me! It has been hard to switch from waking up at noon every day to waking up at 7 and not being home for 12 hours. But I am sure I'll be fine once I adjust to things :)

How have you guys been? I've missed talking to you all!!

  12.  Hi Naaz, there are soo many job opportunities within the field of makeup. Perhaps it's better for you to call the school and ask to speak to someone about it before you sign up.

  14.  Well, it really depends. I think there are so many jobs out there that can follow, like freelancing or working with a particular brand. I don't really have much experience with working with a brand as I plan on freelancing, though, so you'll have to make some calls to shops and stuff to find out more on that. HTH!

  16.  Hey babe, there are a few places where you can get CS. Are you in Dubai? Then you can either order directly from CS at www.coastalscents.com or you can order them from laylam.ae or you can even find them on souq.com. Hope that helps! :)
