My Current Skin Routine - Night

My skin's been super fickle these days. It has been bumpy and congested, and peeling at the same time! I finally went to see my dermatologist, and he diagnosed me with mild acne and Seborrhea. Seborrhea can cause thick, flaky patches on the skin and scalp, and it is often accompanied by acne.

Anyway, this can be aggravated by the environment and I know some of you might be dealing with the same issues, so I wanted to share some of the products that I've been using to keep everything under control. I'll put up my day time products ASAP :)

Exfoliac Lotion for Acne Prone Skin, Boreade Cream Cleanser for Oily/Combination skin, Clean and Clear Shine Control Daily Facial moisturizer

Boreade Cream Cleanser for oily or combination skin - this cleanser is ultra gentle. You're supposed to wet your face, apply the cleanser and let it sit for a minute before rinsing it off. This was given to me by my dermatologist and I love it. It really cleanses my skin, but leaves it feeling super soft and smooth.

Exfoliac Lotion for Acne Prone Skin - this was also given to me by my dermatologist. It contains AHAs, which break down the bonds of the flakes to the skin and helps smooth it out, while reducing breakouts. I'm supposed to use it every night for 6 weeks. I've been using it for about two weeks and so far I've noticed a small difference, but nothing miraculous. I'm gonna keep using it though and see how the results are in a few weeks.

Clean and Clear Oil Free Shine Control Daily Facial Moisturizer -This is oil free so it doesn't clog my pores. I don't use it every night, only when my skin feels really tight and dry. I also use it under my foundation so that it doesn't emphasize the flakiness.

Clarins Eye Contour Balm, Skin Hour Revitaleyes Eye Balm, Blistex Intensive Moisturizer Lip Balm, DIY lip balm

Clarins Eye Contour Balm - I've been using this for about a month now. It's really great and it soaks in easily and is great to use before makeup.

Skin Hour Revitaleyes Eye Balm - I bought this in Manila and it's lovely. It's a balm, so I try to warm it up between my fingers before I apply it. It's made of all natural ingredients including almond oil, beeswax and calendula extract. I apply this under my eyes at night when I've been wearing a lot of makeup or my eyes feel particularly dry.

Blistex Intensive Moisturizer Lip Balm - My lips have been super dry and chapped lately. This is my favorite "winter" lip balm, but it is thick and white so it's best to use at night. Otherwise you might end up looking a little funny during the day!

DIY lip balm - I got this recipe from Cosmo's Sexiest Beauty Secrets. It's basically Vaseline mixed with honey and a touch of cinnamon. You're supposed to apply it, leave it on for ten minutes and then wipe it off. I've only been using it for a few days now, but I'm pretty sure my lips are softer than normal.

Well there's the break-down of my night time products and routine! If you have any questions about the products or anything like that, just let me know :) What are your favorite night time skin care products?

  1. Hi Aseya, Seborrhea can be really uncomfortable, but at least you have got it diagnosed now so you can take steps to calm it.  My night routine has changed - again!  I'll post it for you shortly.

  3. I'm curious to see what you think of the dermatologist recommended products after the 6 weeks. I have had the most horrible acne for a few months now (its basically cystic acne). The entire right side of my face looks like a huge rash. Ive been given some oral medication for it but never know what to use in terms of face wash.
I also love the look of that eye balm...I'm going to have to look it up online.

  6. My skin's usually pretty clear, but in the past few months it's been pretty bad. I think it's due to my PCOS, I put on a little weight and it all went beserk! I'm hoping this will work, so I'll definitely keep you posted! :)

  7. The texture of the Skin Hour Revitaleyes Eye Balm looks interesting! Isn't too heavy? I've had milia around my eyes for some times and since I've stopped using my Burt's bees Radiance Eye Cream, it has almost completely healed! Now I have to be careful with what I use around my eyes -_-

  9. I've never experienced Milia before, so I can't really say whether it could cause it or not. I do know that the ingredients on the box are totally natural and there are no mineral oils or petroleum jelly or anything like that. So I'd say it's a pretty good one to try. Especially if you have drier skin around the eyes, but milia is a concern :)
