Review: Urban Decay's The Fun Palette
Urban Decay's The Fun Palette - 160 Dirhams, available at Sephora Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates
The palette contains six eye shadows, one 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Oil Slick, and a travel sized Primer Potion
Urban Decay Says:
You tend to tip the scales, don't you? Our technicolor Fun Palette makes you the hit of the party (as if you need the help). This bright case hosts six shadows with twittering personality, a sassy eye pencil and our must-have Eye Shadow Primer Potion. Please, entertain us!
When I first opened the palette, I thought the shadows were gorgeous, but I wasn't sure that I would actually wear them all. However, once I swatched them, I realized that how wearable they actually are. Each of the shadows is extremely pigmented, but super soft and they blend like a dream. They also have a very slight, almost metallic shimmer to them, perfect for catching the light on a night out!
Urban Decay is marketing this palette as the fun, carefree one (with a cute nod to the 70s!), but I think this might just be the ultimate summer palette! It's small and lightweight, and the primer potion is small enough to carry in your hand luggage, which means it's great to take on holiday. The six shades can easily be worn together to create a variety of different looks. And the liner is dark enough to smudge around your lashes, but has glitter flecks in it to keep up the fun factor. I will definitely be packing this on my next beach vacation!
How about some swatches?
Left to right: Woodstock (bright pink with slight shimmer), Baked (rich bronze), Uzi (metallic silver with big irridescent glitter)
Sin (champagne), Flipside (electric teal with blue sheen), Psychedlic Sister (bright purple)
24/7 Eye liner in Oil Slick (black with teeny silver glitter) - I was just having fun :)
I actually do think this is a great palette, especially if you are new to color or slightly afraid of it, like I am. I've worn Flipside and loved it! I'm going to try Woodstock next :) And at 160 dirhams, I think it's also great value for money, especially considering everything you get. The only thing I would be cautious of is the packaging. It's made of (sturdy) cardboard, but I would avoid throwing it in your purse during the day because it may get banged up.
Have any of you tried this palette? What are your favorite eye shadow colors for the summer?
