Locally Available EcoTools Dupe?

Ever since I heard about ecoTools brushes, I've wanted to get my hands on them. It sounded like such a great concept; cheap, effective, aesthetically-pleasing  and good for the environment.

I finally got some when my sister brought me the eye brush set when she got back from the states. And it was pretty much love at first 'feel'. The brushes are amazing. So soft and just the right density. They pick up an apply makeup perfectly.

So you can imagine my excitement when I walked into a little store in a small not-fancy-at-all mall near my house and found THESE BABIES:

Now, let's compare them to ecoTools, shall we?

They are both packaged very similarly.

ecoTools have handles made from bamboo and 100% cruelty free bristles. They have recycled aluminum ferrules and come with a cotton and hemp travel case.

Diana of London Eco-beauty Concept brushes also have bamboo handles and Taklon bristles. Their ferrules are also made of recycled aluminum and the pouch is  (what do you know?) made from natural cotton and hemp!

The pouches side by side (remember the ecoTools set is a mini one). I actually prefer the feel of the DOL pouch, but the ecoTools one has a mirror.

I was a little disappointed when I first opened the DOL set because the brushes weren't as fluffy and were kinda flat and thin. However, I gave them a shot and they surprised me! The concealer and blush brushes are my favorites. The concealer brush blends my concealer very effeciently without tugging on my skin. I actually prefer it to my Sephora concealer brush.

The blush brush is the fluffiest and softest of the bunch. It is just the right size for my face and picks up and blends powder products really well. I use the liner brush to fill in my eyebrows and it gives a really nice sleek application. The lash and brow groomer is good too, I use it to blend my eyebrows after I fill them in, to avoid a harsh look.

The only one I am not too fond of is the eye shadow brush. I prefer fluffier brushes for my shadows because I'm a fan of softer looks, but I do think this would be great to apply cream products.

Diana of London eco-beauty concept brushes are available in the makeup store upstairs at Bin Sougat Center, Rashidiya. The set is 75 dirhams. If you live on this side of town, I do recommend trying them out because they are pretty good for the price!

At this point though, I have no way to test these brushes to ensure they are eco-friendly, so I'm just taking the manufacturer's word. These brushes are made in South Korea, but I do believe DOL is based in the UAE. You can check out their website www.dianaoflondon.com .

UPDATE:
I was just checking the ecoTools website and it looks like the DOL brushes are pretty much either a knock off of the ecoTools brushes, or they are made by the same manufacturer (my ecoTools brushes say they are made in China) They look EXACTLY the same.
