Review: Bioderma Sensibio H2O

Bioderma Sensibio H2O, approximately 60 Dhs at Boots

Bioderma says:
A Bioderma innovation, Sensibio H2O gently cleanses and removes make-up from face and eyes. The micelles contained in its formula effectively micro-emulsify impurites while maintaining the cutaneous balance. Soothing active ingredients prevent the skin from feeling irritated. Excellent cutaneous and ocular tolerance.

Directions for use: soak a cotton pad. Cleanse/remove make-up and dry gently.

I say:
I have seen this around, but never really gave it any thought. I saw Lisa Eldridge's video on removing makeup and she recommended this, so I wanted to try it out.

I haven't had another chance to really use it out, so I decided to smudge some Blacktrack Fluidline on and put on a little 17 Wild Curls mascara to try it out! Sorry for the ungroomed eye brows and everything else, but it's all in the name of research! :)

Before

After holding the pad on my eye for 30 seconds and gently wiping off.

After going over the top and bottom lid a couple of times.

The remover is clear and doesn't have a smell. It's very thin (like water) although it does bubble when you shake it (I just wanted to see! hehe)

I think this is a really great remover. I have always used oil-based or cream eye-makeup removers, so I wasn't 100% sure how this would perform. It took off pretty much every bit of makeup, including the mascara.

The only problem I have with this is that it does take a bit of time. If you're coming in after a night out, the last thing you want to do is sit around with cotton pads on your eyes. Even if it's really quick, I'd rather just swipe something on and be done with it. I think in that sense, I prefer my Bobbi Brown Oil Cleanser. However, if you don't mind taking the minute to properly remove your makeup, I think this is a great product.

It left my eye lid and surrounding skin feeling soft and clean, not greasy or dry. I tried it to remove my face makeup last week and I did notice that when I woke up my face was soft and less oily than usual. (yeah, I'm really sexy first thing in the morning! haha!)

Have any of you used this? Or are you planning on trying it out?

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

  2. Oh, I used to love Bi Facil, but it got to expensive for me so I switched to the L'oreal one. I used it for years!

  3. Hi! I've never heard of this one, I need to buy a new makeup remover, so I might have a go of this one. By 'need' I mean 'I'm bored with mine, so I want a new one'. Thank you for the review!

  5. I really wanted to try this but I don't like having to do the whole soaking thing. I've just been using makeup wipes and then washing my face but I do love the Bobbi Brown Oil Cleanser.

I think I may skip this Bioderma remover and try the Laura Mercier Purifying Cleansing Oil next because I'm really loving her products the more I use them. I also want to try the Shu Uemura one because I've heard great things about it.

    Thanks for the review! :)

  6. Melanie, let me know what you think when you try it out! I've overlooked it so many times at the drugstore!

Maphi - it really does! Thanks for reading :)

Bug - I'm the same. I like the oil cleansers because they're so much faster. I'm really desperate to try the Shu Uemura one, too! I will have to pick up a bottle if I travel to Asia this year. I'm going to look up the Laura Mercier one, the BB one is the first one I've tried so I don't have too much to compare it to! hehe

  13. This is THE BEST make up remover ever! Bioderma actually discovered the Micellaire Solution and was later copied by huge brands all over the world. The solution actually lifts unwanted oil from under your skin and removes it, while doing all the other fab things make up removers do. they also use ONLY ingredients that naturally occur in the skin and body so there are no unwanted chemicals or ingredients. It is also anti allergen and fragrance free so its actually perfect for every skin time. I don't leave it on for 30 seconds, just dab it on and swipe it off and it removes everything. for me its a top skin care product
